Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children
Mission Statement
The mission of CASA is to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courts. We promote and support quality volunteer representation for children to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.
Description
Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. That’s where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn’t continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe, loving home where he/she can thrive. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every abused and neglected child who needs one.

From the Coordinator: First, I would like to thank Kasey Lansdale for coming up and speaking to us at our meeting. Everyone felt the things Kasey had to say were informative, positive and enlightening. She was an absolute delight to talk to. Please be sure to check out her new website at www.KaseyLansdale.com.
One of the things Kasey stressed upon was the importance of networking and how she never takes any meeting she encounters for granted, and how those meetings have more than often led to other meetings, including a co-write with hit songwriter Arlos Smith. As an artist, she was able to share what an artist goes through in looking for songs to cut. And as a songwriter, she knows the struggles we all face in striving for a cut. At only 23 years old, Kasey has toured internationally, is completing her 3rd EP project, is a staff writer in Nashville for Spoon’s Tunes and is hopeful of an artist deal in the near future. Kasey has worked hard to get her talents as a singer and a songwriter in front of a lot of people. She has a love for the stage, an incredible voice, and for those of us who shared time with her last night, is an awesome person. I know we have talked about it before, but remember, there are only six degrees of separation among us! Approach your contacts with a positive attitude, pleasant demeanor and persistence! We certainly wish Kasey all the best with her career and our door is always open! Have a great writing session! Kathy Davidson
